For smart farming solutions to create meaningful value, they must respond to farmers’ actual needs, fit different agricultural contexts and be supported by reliable knowledge, practical guidance and collaboration. This means listening not only to technology developers and researchers, but also to the farmers, advisors and facilitators who work with these solutions in practice.

Nevertheless, access to technology does not automatically lead to its successful adoption. The process may be influenced by investment costs, limited information, technical complexity, concerns about data, insufficient training or uncertainty regarding the practical benefits of a solution. Local farming conditions, available infrastructure and the level of advisory support can also affect whether a technology can be successfully integrated into everyday farm management.
For this reason, TECHCOACH promotes a farmer-centred and multi-actor approach to agricultural innovation. The podcast series supports this by making practical experiences, lessons and ideas accessible to a wider audience.
