On 22 April 2026, the TECHCOACH Innovation Bootcamp was held in Hungary, bringing together participants to address real-life challenges in precision crop production through collaborative and innovative solution development.
Working in multidisciplinary teams, participants developed practical solutions inspired by real-world agricultural challenges. The participating teams were Demeter Team, Talajharapók, Viharban Tapogatók, Delta, Pácsonyi Partizánok, and Táblamérnökök.
Before the bootcamp, participants joined a 2-day interactive field visit, where they explored the demonstration farm and gained firsthand insight into the challenges faced in practice. Based on these observations, the teams worked on their proposed solutions and presented their ideas during the bootcamp.
The presentations showcased a range of insightful and professionally valuable approaches. Following the evaluation process, the bootcamp finalists were:
Demeter Team – 1st place
Táblamérnökök – 2nd place
Talajharapók – 3rd place
The winning team, Demeter Team, addressed a complex, multi-factor challenge by proposing a well-structured solution targeting within-field topographic variability, soil erosion, and nutrient heterogeneity. As part of their concept, they developed a variable-rate seeding and nutrient management plan for the Mesterdűlő field of D&D Farm Ltd.
The solutions were evaluated by a 9-member jury, including representatives of the TechCoach Project’s Operation Group (OG), Dr Sándor Zsebő and Dávid Stencinger, as well as members of the Hungarian partner institutions, Széchenyi István University and Agricultural and Food Research Centre: Judit Makkos-Káldi PhD, Dr Károly Kacz, Dr András Vér, and Mihály Kulmány, PhD. The jury was further strengthened by the external expert from AGROTEC Magyarország Kft., Dr István Virág, and representatives of the host farm, Viktoria Vona PhD and Dániel Kovács.
