TECHCOACH Project Kicks Off in Dronten: Bringing Smart Farming Closer to Farmers 

The Horizon Europe-funded TechCoach Project officially launched with a successful in-person Kick-off Meeting held on March 18–19 at Aeres University of Applied Sciences in Dronten, the Netherlands. 

Following its virtual launch in January, the two-day event brought together the eight core consortium partners from across Europe to align on the project’s shared vision: 
Bringing Smart Farming Closer to Farmers. 

The meeting served as the first opportunity for partners to meet face-to-face and dive into the project’s strategy, structure, and upcoming activities. 

Key Highlights from the Kick-off Meeting: 

  • Presentations of each Work Package (WP), outlining objectives and actions. 
  • Interactive workshops focused on the role of advisors and identifying adoption barriers. 
  • A tour of the Aeres Agri Innovation Center 
  • An engaging session with local farmers, fostering multi-actor dialogue and exploring national differences in advisory needs. 

The Kick-off Meeting set the tone for a dynamic collaboration ahead. By strengthening advisory capacities, supporting knowledge exchange, and promoting tailored coaching, TechCoach will work to facilitate collaborative and multi-actor approaches in the adoption of Smart Farming technologies across Europe. 

The consortium brings together institutions from different European countries, each contributing deep knowledge and field experience in agricultural innovation, advisory systems, and Smart Farming technolog
